Admin Quick Start

This quick start will help you get the store running from plugin installation to a test purchase.

Step 1: Installation And Activation

Follow these instructions to install and activate AweCommerce

  1. Open WordPress admin
  2. Open Plugins
  3. Activate AweCommerce
  4. Confirm the AweCommerce menu appears.
  5. Open AweCommerce, then Dashboard.

If you see a setup warning, continue to the Launch Guide.

Step 2: Create Store Pages

1. Open AweCommerce, then Launch Guide. 2. Review the page checklist. 3. Create missing pages. 4. Repair pages that need repair. 5. Confirm the Shop, Cart, Checkout, Account, Order Confirmation, Payment Failed, and Payment Recovery pages are ready.

Step 3: Configure Store Basics

1. Open AweCommerce, then Settings. 2. Set currency. 3. Set email sender and support email. 4. Set seller profile for invoices. 5. Set checkout behavior. 6. Add agreement text if buyers must accept terms, subscription terms, refund terms, or license terms. 7. Save each settings section.

Step 4: Configure A Test Gateway

1. Open AweCommerce, then Settings. 2. Open Gateways. 3. Keep the store in test mode. 4. Enable one gateway. 5. Enter test credentials. 6. Save. 7. Use the gateway test action if available.

Stripe and PayPal are the recurring subscription gateways. The other payment options are intended for one-time payments in the current store.

Step 5: Create A Product

1. Open AweCommerce, then Products. 2. Add a product. 3. Enter title, description, excerpt, image, and gallery. 4. Choose product type. 5. Add at least one price. 6. Save or publish the product. 7. View the product page.

Step 6: Run A Test Purchase

1. Open the Shop page. 2. Add the product to the cart. 3. Open Cart. 4. Continue to Checkout. 5. Enter buyer details. 6. Apply coupon if testing coupons. 7. Accept required agreements. 8. Complete payment with test payment details. 9. Confirm the order completes. 10. Confirm the buyer receives an email. 11. Open the Account page as the buyer. 12. Confirm the order appears.

Step 7: Review Admin Records

1. Open AweCommerce, then Orders. 2. Confirm the test order. 3. Open Customers and confirm the customer. 4. Open Reports and confirm the purchase is reflected. 5. Open Store Health and confirm there are no critical setup issues.

Step 8: Switch To Live Mode

Only switch to live mode after:

  • Test checkout succeeds.
  • Test refund succeeds.
  • Emails are delivered.
  • Store pages work.
  • Webhooks are healthy.
  • Subscriptions are tested if selling recurring products.
  • Licenses and downloads are tested if selling software.
