Create A Downloadable Product
1. Open AweCommerce, then Products. 2. Add or edit product. 3. Select Downloadable product type. 4. Add product title, description, and images. 5. Add a price. 6. Open Downloads. 7. Add file name. 8. Add file location. 9. Set download limit if needed. 10. Set access duration. 11. Mark the file active. 12. Save product. 13. Run a test purchase. 14. Log in as the buyer. 15. Open Account, then Downloads. 16. Confirm the file appears and downloads.
Download Access Duration
Download access can be:
- Lifetime.
- Fixed time period.
- While subscription remains active.
- During the current subscription period.
Choose the option that matches the product promise.
Download Limit
Use limits when the business wants to restrict repeated downloads. Avoid very low limits for software products because customers may need to reinstall.
Secure Download Practices
Use the customer portal for downloads. Do not send raw private file locations to customers.
For licensed software, use personalized package downloads from the portal when available.
Admin Troubleshooting
If a buyer cannot download:
1. Confirm the order is paid. 2. Confirm the buyer is using the correct account. 3. Confirm the file is active. 4. Confirm access duration has not expired. 5. Confirm subscription is active if access depends on subscription. 6. Confirm the file still exists. 7. Confirm the customer has the correct access grant.
