How To Manage Licenses Activations And Domains

Licenses control customer access to software products, updates, downloads, and support.

License Statuses

Licenses can be:

  • Active.
  • Expired.
  • Suspended.
  • Disabled.
  • Revoked.
  • Refunded.
  • Chargeback.
  • Over limit.

View Licenses

1. Open AweCommerce, then Licenses. 2. Search by customer, order, product, or key. 3. Open license. 4. Review status. 5. Review customer. 6. Review covered products. 7. Review activation limit. 8. Review activated domains. 9. Review events. 10. Review related order or subscription.

Reveal A License Key

Use reveal only when needed for support.

1. Open license. 2. Confirm you are viewing the correct customer. 3. Use Reveal. 4. Provide key securely. 5. Document support reason if prompted.

Key reveal can be recorded for audit.

Rotate A License Key

Use rotation when a key may be exposed or needs to be replaced.

1. Open license. 2. Confirm customer. 3. Choose Rotate. 4. Confirm rotation. 5. Send new key to customer through the approved support process. 6. Ask customer to reactivate if needed.

Deactivate A Customer Domain

Use domain deactivation when a customer moved sites, retired a domain, or hit activation limit because of an old site.

1. Open license. 2. Review activated domains. 3. Confirm with customer which domain should be removed. 4. Deactivate old domain. 5. Ask customer to activate on the new site.

Handle Over-Limit License

1. Open license. 2. Review activation limit. 3. Review all domains. 4. Identify old, staging, local, and production domains. 5. Apply store policy. 6. Deactivate stale domain or ask customer to upgrade. 7. Confirm license returns to active if appropriate.

Handle Refunded Or Chargeback License

1. Open license. 2. Review related order. 3. Confirm refund or chargeback status. 4. Confirm runtime behavior policy. 5. Confirm updates and downloads are blocked or allowed according to policy. 6. Document the action.
