1. Open AweCommerce, then Taxes. 2. Add a tax rate. 3. Choose country. 4. Choose state or region if the rate is regional. 5. Enter percentage. 6. Choose whether tax is added on top of price or already included in price. 7. Save. 8. Run a checkout test using a buyer address in that location.
Tax Matching Order
AweCommerce chooses the most specific matching tax rate:
1. Country and state or region. 2. Country only. 3. Default rate.
Tax Testing Checklist
Test:
- Buyer in a taxed location.
- Buyer in an untaxed location.
- Buyer with state or region-specific rate.
- One-time purchase.
- Subscription purchase.
- Coupon with tax.
- Refund reporting.
Create A Percentage Coupon
1. Open AweCommerce, then Coupons. 2. Add coupon. 3. Enter code. 4. Add name. 5. Choose percentage discount. 6. Enter percentage. 7. Choose product or price scope if the coupon is limited. 8. Set expiration if needed. 9. Set maximum redemptions if needed. 10. Set per-customer limit if needed. 11. Activate coupon. 12. Save. 13. Test checkout.
Create A Fixed Amount Coupon
1. Open Coupons. 2. Add coupon. 3. Choose fixed amount discount. 4. Enter amount. 5. Confirm currency. 6. Set product or price scope. 7. Save. 8. Test checkout.
Create A Trial Extension Coupon
Use trial extension coupons for subscription offers.
1. Open Coupons. 2. Add coupon. 3. Choose trial extension. 4. Enter number of extra trial days. 5. Limit coupon to eligible subscription products. 6. Save. 7. Test checkout with a subscription price.
Coupon Duration
Coupon duration controls how subscription discounts continue:
- Once applies at the start.
- Forever applies while the subscription continues.
- Repeating applies for a limited renewal period.
Coupon Troubleshooting
If a coupon fails:
- Confirm it is active.
- Confirm it is not expired.
- Confirm it matches the product.
- Confirm it matches the price.
- Confirm it matches the currency.
- Confirm the buyer has not reached their limit.
- Confirm the store has not reached the redemption limit.
